Senior Ecommerce Search Engine Optimization Specialist

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior SEO Specialist to lead strategy, identify high-impact opportunities, and serve as the organic growth lead across a portfolio of high-performing client accounts, with a primary focus on ecommerce partners. You’ll guide partners through SEO strategic roadmaps, execute detailed audits, manage technical prioritization, and drive measurable performance across large product catalogs, category-driven architectures, and revenue-focused initiatives.

In this role, you will own organic growth for ecommerce brands by improving product and category discoverability, managing indexation at scale, and aligning SEO strategy with merchandising, conversion, and lifetime value goals. You will collaborate closely with content, outreach, paid media, and development teams to ensure SEO recommendations are implemented in ways that support both rankings and revenue.

This is a full-time, remote position that reports to the Director of SEO.

The majority of your workday will be spent identifying, documenting, and prioritizing SEO issues for clients.

Compensation

$75,000 – $90,000 annually, depending on experience, technical depth, and client management skills.

Qualifications Must-Have

Proven experience scaling SEO for ecommerce sites with hundreds to tens of thousands of SKUs

Proven client-facing experience in an agency environment

Expertise in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets

Advanced proficiency in using formulas, data manipulation techniques to create meaningful, client-facing analysis through Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets

Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders

Deep knowledge of SEO tools: Ahrefs, Moz, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics

Experience implementing and validating ecommerce structured data, including Product, Review, Offer, and Breadcrumb schema

Hands‑on experience optimizing category pages and product detail pages (PDPs) for search visibility and conversion support

Experience developing, managing, executing, and measuring SEO campaigns for medium-to-large brands and eCommerce websites

Strong understanding of page-level SEO, site architecture, technical audits, and structured data

Experience with AEO/ AI SEO strategies including featured snippet and AIO targeting, FAQ markup, entity optimization, and search intent mapping

Experience supporting or collaborating on product feed optimization and feed management solutions that impact organic shopping visibility

Working knowledge of recent and ongoing algorithm changes including Helpful Content updates, Core Web Vitals, spam signal updates (e.g., SpamBrain), and the implications of generative AI on search

Proven experience collaborating with Paid Media, Dev, and Content teams through meeting preparation, client-facing communications, running joint meetings

Nice to Have

Experience with Looker Studio (Data Studio), Supermetrics, or other reporting tools

Familiarity with AI-driven tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini Surfer, Peec AI, Profound AI, etc.

Familiarity with common CMS softwares; especially WordPress with Woocommerce, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce

Experience using Google Tag Manager for tracking setups, including event and key event configuration in GA4

Experience creating and managing custom reports and dashboards in GA4

6 week ramp‑up – Successful candidates must be able to manage accounts in a partner-facing capacity within six weeks

Responsibilities

Lead the SEO relationship for your assigned clients

Own SEO strategy for category, subcategory, and product detail pages, balancing crawl efficiency, rankings, and conversion support

Audit and optimize PDP and category templates for structured data, internal linking, indexation, and performance at scale

Lead client calls as the primary SEO voice, educate, recommend, and defend strategic direction

Perform advanced audits using a suite of SEO tools to surface technical and content opportunities

Write Point of View (POV) documents and recommendations based on partner needs and data

Prioritize

initiatives by difficulty, cost, and potential impact, make budget recommendations

Partner with Paid Media and ecommerce teams on product feed optimization to improve organic shopping visibility

Collaborate with Paid Media, Content, and Development teams to execute multi-channel strategies

Execute SEO deliverables such as keyword research, on-page optimization, internal linking, competitive gap analysis, and technical improvements

Conduct QA on SEO deliverables produced by SEO peers

Identify risks and opportunities related to SKU sprawl, thin PDPs, duplicate categories, and parameter driven URLs

Monitor performance and iterate strategy based on analytics and client KPIs

Mentor junior SEO talent as needed and contribute to improving our internal SEO playbooks

Proactively surface new opportunities and test ideas that improve results (within above-mentioned frameworks of prioritization)

Use AI to scale audits, surface gaps, or assist with content ideation, while relying on human strategy for final decision-making
