General Summary The primary duties of the Loan Operations department include providing excellent customer service to the bank’s customers and fellow employees while being the main point of contact for loan servicing operations. This department is responsible for all aspects of a loan throughout its life cycle from booking and maintenance, to processing loan payoffs. The Loan Operations Specialist II works closely with other key department members and the management team to ensure all new loans are properly entered and maintained on the system. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is needed in this position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provides assistance on loan servicing inquiries regarding payment inquiries, transaction research, error resolution and general loan account questions.

Books and maintains loans after they have been originated, in addition to closing loan files on loans that have been paid off.

Ensures accurate and timely operations of the bank’s loan process.

Verifies all documents and information requested by customers and/or attorneys are received and placed in loan or credit files.

Posts payments, makes draws, advances and construction draws.

Interpret and understand flood determinations, verifications, appraisals and title work.

Tracks loan-related documents and ensures collateral is properly insured for the life of the loan.

Completes exception report remediation or research on time and with high accuracy.

Monitors and responds to all email or phone requests to ensure completion of requests are completed in a timely manner.

Assists the department with various administrative loan tasks such as processing pay-off letters, loan payments, posting incoming wire payments and monthly Lines of Credit.

Understands process issues, opens cases in JHA Core Processing System and works with JHA to resolve in a timely manner.

Recognizes process efficiency opportunities and suggests changes to existing departmental procedures.

Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.

Supports and participates in community activities and initiatives.

Other duties necessary to meet business objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High School diploma or equivalent required.

2-3 years prior experience in banking or relevant field, preferably within a Loan Servicing role.

Ability to operate in a professional office environment while servicing clients in a courteous and professional manner.

Handles moderately challenging situations to resolve customer or branch issues.

Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office

Demonstrated knowledge/experience in loan servicing practices and procedures.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are critical.

Must be analytical, detail oriented and organized.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across multiple departments.

Adaptable in an ever-changing technological and regulatory environment.
