Director of Product Design & Development, Women’s
to lead end-to-end product creation for our Women’s category, developing and translating category strategy into winning products delivered with speed, consistency, and scale. This role is the strategic and executional anchor for women’s product — accountable for the product roadmap, design excellence, development rigor, and SKU lifecycle performance from concept through launch.
This leader will balance creative intuition with operational discipline, ensuring products are not only desirable and on-brand, but also manufacturable, scalable, and commercially viable. You will partner closely with our Founder and key cross-functional stakeholders across Sourcing, Production, Merchandising, Marketing, and Channel teams to deliver high-quality products that delight customers and drive profitable growth.

Areas of Accountability
Own and execute the women’s product roadmap, developing and translating category strategy, customer insights, and business goals into a focused, high-impact product pipeline
Define clear product briefs, success metrics, and guardrails that ensure alignment across design, development, and commercialization
Use data, customer feedback, and post-launch performance to continuously refine product direction and prioritization
Product Design
Lead end-to-end product design for the women’s category, from concept ideation through final design approval
Ensure all designs are deeply rooted in the True Classic brand ethos, customer needs, and fit standards while elevating aesthetic and perceived value
Stay ahead of relevant trends, materials, and construction techniques, selectively applying innovation where it meaningfully improves the product
Oversee color, fabric, and trim decisions to ensure cohesive collections with strong commercial appeal
Product Development & Timelines
Own the development calendar for the women’s category, ensuring milestones are met without compromising quality, fit, or margin targets
Partner closely with sourcing and production to select materials, finalize specifications, and resolve design or development constraints efficiently
Drive disciplined decision-making to balance speed-to-market with durability, consistency, and scalability
SKU Lifecycle Management
Maintain clear ownership of SKU lifecycle from concept through launch, including iteration, line edits, and sunsets
Ensure SKUs are intentionally scoped, clearly differentiated, and optimized for long‑term performance
Collaborate cross‑functionally to manage revisions, extensions, and improvements based on performance insights and customer feedback
Qualifications
5-7+ years of experience in apparel product design & development, with demonstrated ownership of products from concept through production
Deep knowledge of fabrics, textiles, fit, and construction, with the ability to translate design intent into scalable, manufacturable products
Strong understanding of development calendars, costing, and production constraints in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with overseas vendors
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining clarity, prioritization, and accountability
Strong analytical and judgment skills; able to balance qualitative design sensibility with quantitative performance data
Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams while collaborating cross‑functionally
Clear, confident communicator capable of aligning stakeholders around product vision and execution
Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action, ownership, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a high‑growth DTC or omnichannel brand
Experience building or improving planning tools, processes, or reporting frameworks from the ground up
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment and adapt as priorities evolve
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation
Salary Range: $160K-$180K + bonus
