A newly created fintech payment platform and card company looking to bring on a new "Director of Licensing" to join their team. This role is on a hybrid schedule in Washington D.C. Responsibilities
Oversee the firm’s full MTL licensing program across all 50 states, including applications, renewals, and exemptions. Lead domestic and international licensing efforts, including trade names and product expansions. Develop and maintain governance frameworks, processes, and systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and transparency. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Product, Operations, and Finance to align new initiatives with regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary contact for state, federal, and international regulators on licensing matters. Manage audits, examinations, and renewals while fostering strong regulatory relationships and timely responses. Monitor and report on program effectiveness, ensuring compliance with conduct and consumer protection standards. Maintain centralized documentation, dashboards, and metrics to support audits and executive reporting. Drive automation and process improvements to strengthen risk controls. Build and lead a high-performing licensing team with defined roles, training, and development paths. Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Support policy development, special projects, and emerging regulatory initiatives.
