Executive Director of Schools
Success Academy seeks an Executive Director of Schools to lead charter school operations, advance the district’s mission to build student achievement, college and career readiness, and foster a positive learning culture.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Vision: Sets the tone, develops and implements the Charter’s improvement plans, and ensures alignment with the charter’s goals (innovation, choice).
Instructional Oversight: Evaluates educational programs, teachers, and student progress using data; ensures quality instruction and interventions.
Staff Management: Supervises, evaluates, trains, and supports all staff, including handling discipline and development.
Student & Community: Cultivates a positive, safe environment in both locations; handles student discipline/support; communicates with parents; builds community ties.
Financial & Operations: Manages budgets, oversees School LAND Trust funds, ensures compliance, and assists with fundraising.
Compliance: Ensures adherence to state/federal laws (IDEA, etc.), the charter agreement, and reporting requirements.
Board Collaboration: Works closely with the SUCCESS Academy Board of Trustees and the Iron County School District to foster trust and mutual respect.
Policy Development: Formulates applicable policies and procedures, plans and conducts training, and oversees SUCCESS Academy programs.
Assessment & Research: Oversees the district participation in large‑scale assessment activities, directs use of records and reports, and conducts and approves research studies.
Program Oversight: Prepares budget, monitors expenditures, solicits funds for programs, contracts with agencies for needed services, and oversees Concurrent Enrollment, CTE, and AP programs.
Partnerships: Initiates and maintains effective liaison with state, other school districts, and other educational partners to keep abreast of new developments and ideas.
Qualifications
Experience leading charter schools or similar educational organizations.
Knowledge of IDEA, special education laws, and charter school regulations.
Strong fiscal management, community engagement, and board collaboration skills.
Demonstrated ability to inspire trust, lead teams, and foster a culture of high standards and integrity.
