We’re partnering with a highly regarded industrial technology company to appoint a Director of Sales & Business Development. This is a senior, visible leadership role with full ownership of revenue growth, market expansion, and commercial strategy across global markets.

If you thrive at the intersection of strategy, customer engagement, and execution, and enjoy building scalable sales organisations around technically sophisticated products, this role offers both impact and influence.

The Opportunity As Director of Sales & Business Development, you will be responsible for delivering profitable growth, exceeding budgeted revenue targets, and shaping the company’s long-term commercial strategy. You’ll lead and mentor Sales Managers and Customer Account Managers, while acting as a senior representative of the business with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.

This role reports directly to the President & CEO and plays a critical part in guiding the company into new market segments, applications, and product opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Growth

Deliver and exceed annual revenue and profitability targets

Expand and deepen relationships with existing customers

Identify, qualify, and convert new prospects into sustainable, profitable business

Ensure organisational alignment to consistently meet customer and project commitments

Lead expansion into new markets and applications using both existing and new products

Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and in industry publications

Capture the voice of the customer to inform product roadmaps and future growth opportunities

Strategy & Market Leadership

Develop and execute innovative sales and go-to-market strategies

Conduct quantitative and qualitative market research

Monitor competitive activity and stay ahead of market trends

Maximise internal resources while managing risk in new business pursuits

Collaborate cross-functionally to accelerate business growth initiatives

Leadership & Management

Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports to maximise performance and engagement

Ensure sales activities are aligned with broader business strategy

Own revenue, margin, and expense budgeting and reporting

Present and align budgets with senior leadership

Proactively identify and address risks to revenue or profitability

What We’re Looking For

Degree in Engineering or Business (MBA strongly preferred)

Proven experience selling technical or engineering-based products

Background in industrial key components; inkjet printer and/or printhead experience is highly desirable

Demonstrated success leading teams of 5 direct reports

Track record of B2B new product launches in sales or marketing roles

Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills

Experience entering and scaling business in new markets

Advanced market research, commercial analysis, and strategic planning capabilities

Trusted relationship builder — internally and externally

Confident, personable, and comfortable engaging at all organisational levels

Working Environment & Travel

Office-based work with regular computer use

National and international travel up to 30%, including long-haul flights

Attendance at trade shows
