Position Summary

Oversee the operations of the program and its staff. Responsible and accountable for ensuring achievement and excellence in the administration and delivery of program services. Program Director is responsible for thoroughly understanding R.A.I.N. policies and procedures, DFTA Performance Standards and other pertinent regulatory standards and contractual requirements. Program Director is responsible for ensuring compliance and program utilization levels accordingly. This position requires a leader with a strong program management and administrative background.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Provide supervision, training and direction to support employee responsibilities and the interpretation of regulations, policies and operational procedures.

Review operations to ensure a high-level quality and compliance that is consistent with both organizational and regulatory standards.

Anticipate program needs and establish priorities and courses of action to meeting program objectives each day.

Create systems and processes to facilitate service provision and program administration functions.

Conduct ongoing utilization review and create strategies to address underutilization.

Ensure follow through on program plans, ongoing program development and evaluation and agency systems.

Review case worker logs and conduct case reviews (applicable only to program directors within centers that are contracted to provide case assistance services).

Oversee and/or handle the ordering of raw and non-perishable food items, office and maintenance supplies as well as other materials and supplies needed for effective program operation and in accordance with budget.

Monitor all inventory including, but not limited to: raw and non-perishable food, maintenance supplies, office supplies, office equipment, etc.

Develop and implement staff and volunteer training.

Aid in the development of positive team relationships/relationship building.

Oversee program budget and expenses to ensure compliance with budget and line-item purposes.

Conduct cash collection and bank deposits in accordance with agency policy and procedures.

Adhere to all Finance related protocols and deadlines.

Interface with Finance department to ensure continuous communication regarding finance related matters.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree with two years supervisory experience in human services field or Bachelors degree with 5 years experience in human/social services field or equivalent.

Experience as a Program Director within a DFTA-funded senior center is preferred.

Substantive experience with senior programs and supervising teams.

Considerable knowledge of gerontology, crises management, and program development; grant writing, social services, senior benefits and client relations.

Must possess a Food Handlers Certificate.

Ability to organize, manage and evaluate multiple activities and services.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, volunteers and clients.
