Job Title: Director (Nursing)
Framingham, MA This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a multi‑unit level, while assuming 24/7 responsibility over the Director’s assigned areas. The Director is accountable for ensuring high‑quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Responsibilities
Have highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, proven leadership ability, and hospital operational ability, serving as a role model and advocate for the nursing discipline.
Provide leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization.
Assume responsibility for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a multi‑unit level.
Ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Other related duties as required.
Requirements
Education: Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor’s degree in a health‑care related field or a BSN. (MSN or master’s in a health‑care related field is preferred.)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or director‑level; 3+ years of experience working in the OR at a hospital.
Certification/License: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law or regulation in the state of practice; CPR certification.
