Position Summary The Director, People Organization Strategy & Operations (S&O) for Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) and Cell Therapy (CT) reports to the Head HRBP GPS and CT and is a key member of the GPS & CT People Leadership Team. This role is responsible for operationalizing and managing our shared GPS and CT People Strategy, establishing, managing, and governing the project portfolio to enable the execution of complex, multi‑year projects and people initiatives aligned with the long‑term people and business strategy. The Director S&O will provide strategic and operational leadership and serve as Chief of Staff to the Head of the GPS & CT People Organization.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the GPS and CT Strategy & Operations Lead for the GPS & CT People Organization, and Chief of Staff to the Head of GPS & CT People Organization.

Provide strategy and operations leadership to the GPS and CT People Leadership Team, shaping and executing short and long‑term strategic priorities to drive business performance.

Represent the GPS & CT People Organization on enterprise‑wide initiatives (e.g., Strategic Workforce Planning, Future of Work, Risk Assessment).

Lead transformational initiatives that impact the entire GPS and/or CT organizations, partnering across the People team and business leaders to organize, launch, and govern major initiatives.

Manage the GPS and CT People Project Portfolio, including resource allocation and program and project governance.

Partner with the Finance team and the GPS & CT People leadership to manage aggregate People finances, ensuring budget attainment and strategic planning.

Optimize the People Operating Model (e.g., Centers of Excellence, People Services) and collaborate across the People function to deliver enterprise‑wide solutions.

Design and lead change management efforts, including communication and implementation plans, to ensure successful delivery of organizational solutions and programs.

Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment, role‑modeling BMS Behaviors and promoting a sense of belonging.

Translate metrics and analytics into actionable insights to inform organizational direction, drive business performance, and ensure ongoing engagement.

Leverage external insights and trends to support business, talent, and organizational decisions.

Lead or participate in ad‑hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred.

7–10+ years of experience in management consulting, business strategy, business operations, or HR‑related fields.

Proven success working effectively at senior management levels to impact and influence decision‑making in global organizations.

Proven experience working effectively within a matrixed environment and building alignment in cross‑functional teams.

Demonstrated experience using metrics and analytics to drive business performance.

Deep expertise in shaping and managing complex project, portfolio, and change management efforts.

7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare industry strongly preferred.

Strong business acumen and ability to leverage external insights to improve business and talent outcomes.

Knowledge of external trends and factors influencing human behavior and decision‑making at individual, group, and organizational levels.

Compensation Overview Princeton, NJ – US $188,790 – $228,763 (base salary). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
