Responsibilities
Convey the mission to pharmacy staff, hold them accountable for performance, and motivate skill development.
Oversee operations, including scheduling, assessment, and implementation of process improvements.
Provide direct patient and pharmaceutical care.
Demonstrate competence in clinical health system pharmacy practices: antimicrobial stewardship, non‑sterile and sterile drug preparation, controlled substances, accreditation, anticoagulation drug therapy management, and medication safety.
Educate staff on pharmaceutical care and medication management, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
Stay current with new medications, indications, and evidence‑based medicine. Collaborate with the Controller on departmental budgets.
Serve on hospital committees such as Quality Assurance, Formulary, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, MEC, and Safety.
Celebrate the achievements and victories of employees.
Qualifications
Licensed in good standing by the State Pharmacy Board for the state of the hospital.
Successfully completed a degree in an accredited pharmacy program or one substantially equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
Willingness to work weekdays/weekends, evenings/night shifts, and scheduled holidays.
