The Role We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on Director of Quality to architect and drive the Quality Management System for our global YubiKey production, warehousing, and fulfillment operations. In this pivotal role, you will move beyond standard quality checks to establish a multi‑layered prevention model that mirrors our security philosophy.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Quality Strategy:
Architect and drive the implementation of a scalable QMS according to ISO 9001.
Accelerate and structure the transition from tribal knowledge to documented, auditable, repeatable processes.
Establish a multi‑tier quality framework, including supplier quality, incoming inspection, in‑process automated gating, and final audit.
Build and lead an internal Quality Academy to drive QMS delivery.
Collaborate with Engineering to push for rigorous DFMEA and tool requirements.
Quality Operations:
Partner with Engineering during design to drive DFMEA.
Provide requirements to ensure design gating.
Lead PFMEA during production and fulfillment.
Make technical documents readable and actionable for floor staff.
Maintain rigorous Control Plans for quality monitoring.
Implement detection methods, including new inspection methods and functional testing.
Chair the MRB and manage deviation/waiver process.
Define Out of Control Action Plans to transform reactive firefighting into systematic rectification.
Supply Chain Counterfeit Prevention Program:
Own and execute the Counterfeit Prevention Program.
Implement strict controls over component sourcing and chain of custody.
Enforce rigorous quality standards for raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Basic Requirements
10+ years of progressive experience in global Quality Assurance, supporting supply chains across North America, EMEA, and APJ.
Proven track record of architecting and implementing a QMS to ISO 9001 standards; deep expertise in DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
Ability to facilitate workshops and drive these processes with internal audiences.
Security mindset and experience executing Counterfeit Prevention Programs.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
Bonus
Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt; Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE).
Industry experience in high‑mix, high‑volume configuration environments or security hardware.
ISO standards expertise as a Lead Auditor or in guiding ISO 9001 certification.
