Role Overview
The Vice President, Epic Center of Excellence (CoE), is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing, scaling, and governing a world-class Epic practice. This role will drive strategy, practice build out, delivery excellence, talent development, and go-to-market (GTM) enablement across Epic clinical, revenue cycle, and infrastructure domains. The VP will lead the creation of an integrated Epic operating model that spans applications, infrastructure, cloud hosting, managed services, and associated healthcare ecosystems. This leader will serve as a key executive interface with Epic Systems, cloud providers, internal healthcare solution leaders, and clients, ensuring compliance, innovation, and differentiated value delivery. Epic Center of Excellence Leadership
Establish and lead a global Epic Center of Excellence, defining vision, strategy, governance, and execution models. Build, scale, and manage a high-performing team with Epic-certified talent across all major Epic modules, including but not limited to: Clarity / Caboodle Epic Cloud & Systems Administration (ECSA) IRIS Clinical, Revenue Cycle, and ancillary Epic modules Create structured talent development, certification, and retention programs to ensure sustained Epic expertise. Architecture & Hosting Strategy
Develop and maintain a
reference architecture
for Epic hosting and deployment models, including: Epic on AWS Epic on Microsoft Azure Private cloud and hybrid cloud deployments Ensure architectures align with Epic best practices, performance, security, scalability, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with cloud partners and internal infrastructure teams to standardize designs and automation. Delivery & Operating Model
Define and operationalize a
delivery operating model
for: Epic migrations (data center to cloud, cloud-to-cloud, modernization) Epic infrastructure managed services Shape end-to-end managed services models covering Epic infrastructure, applications, monitoring, patching, upgrades, and operational support. Establish KPIs, SLAs, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement mechanisms. Solution Engineering & GTM Enablement
Actively participate in
go-to-market (GTM) initiatives , partnering with sales leaders and solution engineering teams. Provide executive-level solution engineering support for complex Epic opportunities, RFPs, and large transformation deals. Contribute to pricing models, solution differentiation, and value propositions for Epic services. Perform industry benchmarks with pricing and have an operating model aligned well with Price2Win in the marketplace. Integrated Epic & Healthcare Ecosystem Solutions
Lead solution shaping efforts to define an effective operating model for Epic and associated healthcare applications ecosystems. Design integrated service offerings that connect: Clinical Service Desk Epic infrastructure and applications managed services Revenue Cycle managed services Drive operational integration across clinical, financial, and IT domains to deliver measurable client outcomes. Epic Relationship & Compliance
Serve as a senior point of contact with Epic Systems. Collaborate closely with Epic to ensure compliance with
Hosting Access Agreements
and related contractual and technical requirements. Stay aligned with Epic roadmaps, policies, and certification standards. Talent & Global Scale Strategy
Explore and execute opportunities to scale the Epic delivery organization globally. Build geographically distributed teams with Epic-certified talent positioned to support regional clients and time zones. Balance onshore, nearshore, and offshore delivery models while maintaining Epic quality and compliance standards. Healthcare Industry Leadership & Innovation
Serve as a core member of the
Healthcare Industry Solutions leadership team . Identify, incubate, and launch new healthcare solution areas, including but not limited to: Enterprise Imaging Expansion and growth of Epic-adjacent solutions Launch and integration of
Oracle Health
offerings Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technology advancements to inform solution strategy. Key Competencies

15+ years of experience in healthcare IT, with deep expertise in Epic environments. 10+ years of proven leadership experience building and scaling Epic practices or Centers of Excellence. 10+ years experience with Epic hosting models, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and private cloud infrastructure. 7+ years experience with GTM support, solution engineering, and large-scale healthcare transformations. Preferred Experience
Experience managing global delivery teams and complex managed services operations. Strong executive presence with the ability to engage C-suite clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. About NTT DATA
