Job Summary
Boca Circle Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and creative
Activities Director
to lead our activities department. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and oversee engaging, person-centered programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents.
Responsibilities
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activity programs tailored to residents’ needs.
Coordinate recreational opportunities appropriate for the resident population.
Review and update departmental policies and procedures annually.
Foster community outreach and develop partnerships aligned with residents’ interests.
Complete administrative tasks, including forms, reports, and documentation.
Arrange transportation for resident outings and appointments.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and professional standards.
Direct and manage all departmental staff and functions.
Participate in facility surveys and inspections as needed.
Document activity participation, progress notes, and care plan updates accurately.
Maintain a reference library of materials and resources to support quality programming.
Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years of college education; degree preferred but not required.
Must meet one of the following:
Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or licensed activities professional eligible for certification.
At least two (2) years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, including one (1) year full-time in a healthcare setting.
Qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
Completion of a state-approved activities training course.
