A global, publicly traded organization is seeking a
Senior Manager, Tax Accounting
to support its corporate tax accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will be responsible for executing tax accounting policy, overseeing tax provision and forecasting processes, and ensuring accurate income tax reporting in external financial statements. The position also plays a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, providing technical ASC 740 guidance, and supporting tax process automation initiatives.
This is a highly collaborative role, partnering closely with tax leadership, FP&A, controllership, and other finance stakeholders to support effective tax strategies aligned with broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with
ASC 740 , including effective tax rate forecasting and discrete item analysis.
Manage global income tax account rollforwards and reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting.
Research, model, and document the impact of proposed and enacted tax legislation on the global effective tax rate.
Review tax reporting packages for U.S. and international entities; provide guidance and training to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Support and maintain tax provision software, including reconciliations, executive summaries, and ongoing process improvements.
Partner with external auditors to support audits and ensure compliance with internal control requirements.
Provide technical tax accounting guidance across the tax function, including preparation of technical memoranda.
Contribute to tax process optimization, automation, and technology initiatives as part of a broader finance transformation strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
CPA and/or MST preferred.
5–8+ years of corporate tax experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Strong experience with
ASC 740
and SEC reporting for a multinational organization.
Background may include a mix of public accounting and in-house corporate tax experience.
Required Skills
Deep technical knowledge of income tax accounting, including ETR analysis, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and purchase accounting.
Proven ability to lead process improvement and leverage tax technology.
Proficiency with tax provision software required.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative leadership style with the confidence to drive outcomes.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to financial systems and analytics tools such as enterprise consolidations, data automation, and reporting platforms.
