This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Legal Counsel, located in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Senior Legal Counsel will handle day-to-day legal tasks including negotiating and drafting purchase agreements or NNN commercial leases, corporate formation and governance issues, formation and dissolving tenancy in common agreements, review of ALTA/title insurance reports for title concerns on out of state transactions, interpreting lease language and advocating for the company, legal analysis of critical aspects of due diligence of a potential acquisition, running acquisition and disposition transactions, reviewing and negotiating loan documents, limited securities law compliance, assistance with commercial property tax appeals and limited collections responsibilities. Qualifications
Expertise in corporate formation and governance, lease and purchase agreements (drafting/negotiation) for NNN commercial properties, running an acquisition process for commercial real estate, loan review and negotiation, property tax appeal experience, 1031 exchange transaction experience and securities law knowledge is a bonus Critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze and advocate in favor of the company Proactive problem solving skills and yhe ability to create value by refining process and taking initiative Leadership, team building and mentoring skills Efficient and hard working Experience or willingness to use AI to improve efficiency and outcomes Attention to detail and ability to manage workflow to satisfy deadlines Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
