Overview
La Scuola International School seeks a proactive, organized, and creative Marketing Assistant to support the Director of Marketing in executing day-to-day marketing activities. This entry-level role provides broad exposure to school marketing operations and communications, with opportunities to build experience in digital and print content, web maintenance, project oversight, and production workflows.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively across departments to support both strategic and tactical initiatives that strengthen La Scuola’s visibility, community engagement, and brand impact. This position is ideal for someone passionate about education, storytelling, and operational excellence.
This position will support and implement the daily program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of La Scuola under the supervision and direction of the Director of Marketing and the Head of School.
Role & Responsibilities Role & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Marketing Support
Assist with the development and execution of marketing and communications plans
Support writing, proofreading, updating, and formatting of content for publications, web, and internal communications
Help track marketing performance metrics through GA4 and other tools
Attend occasional after-hours events such as school fairs
Website Management
Regularly maintain and update website content using WordPress
Ensure accuracy, usability, and brand alignment of web pages
Support basic web content training and coordination of larger updates with vendors
Digital Marketing & Campaign Support
Assist Director of Marketing with copy and work with designers to create supporting visual assets for paid digital campaigns, including Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and other digital advertising platforms, in alignment with La Scuola’s brand voice and messaging
Assist in the planning, launch, and optimization of digital marketing campaigns supporting admissions, events, and institutional priorities
Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to produce materials, implement campaigns, manage timelines, and ensure accurate execution across platforms
Support campaign tracking and performance monitoring, including reviewing key metrics such as impressions, click-through rates, conversions, and spend pacing
Assist in assessing campaign effectiveness during and post-campaign, compiling performance summaries and insights to inform future strategy and optimization
Maintain organized records of campaign assets, results, and learnings to support reporting and continuous improvement
Design & Production
Assist with layout and light design tasks using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or comparable design tools to create materials including banners, flyers, postcards, and social media materials.
Coordinate print and digital production processes, from file preparation to vendor communication
Ensure brand standards are applied consistently across deliverables
Project Coordination
Track project timelines, approvals, and deliverables across multiple initiatives
Organize and manage marketing assets and documentation
Provide logistical support for photography, video, and on-campus events
Qualifications Required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks
Familiarity with WordPress website editing and basic web principles
Graphic design competency
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent design/layout software
Capacity for both independent work and collaborative problem-solving
Availability for some on-site work in San Francisco (position not open to non-local candidates)
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Familiarity with Italian and/or Spanish languages (a big plus!)
Prior experience in education or nonprofit communications
Experience with print and digital production workflows
Knowledge of digital marketing platforms and analytics
Background in project management or marketing operations
Ability to travel to La Scuola’s East Palo Alto campus for infrequent events

Salary:
$24–$30/hour dependent on experience.
