The Director of External Relations is a strategic and execution-focused role that requires exceptional project management skills and a partner-development mindset, providing cross-departmental leadership for CRES’s nationalPolicymakerSite Visit & Field Tour Program,as well as project management for a new organizational initiative.This role plays a central part in coordinating multi-state field programming, high-level convenings and cross-sector engagement efforts that strengthen center-right clean energy leadership.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention todetailand the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-pacedointed. The ideal candidate is proactive,collaborativeand passionate about clean energy and conservative policy solutions.
This is a non-supervisory role based in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities PolicymakerSite Visit & Field Tour Program Responsibilities include:
Develop and manage project plans, timelinesand budgets for district site visits.
Managetravel and onsitelogistics, ensuring collaboration among internal teams, fieldsupportand key stakeholders.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to ensuretimelyand successful project delivery.
Maintain planning timelines,documentationand trackers, and support weekly coordination structures to keep execution on track.
Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
Conduct post-visit follow-up, including cross-team debriefs and stakeholder updates.
Support and contribute to process improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Priority Initiative Leadership Responsibilities include:
Day-to-day project management of newinitiative, withanticipatedlaunchin early 2026,managing project plans,timelinesand budgets.
Ensurealignmentand visibilityacross CRES teamsand key external partners.
Build and strengthen connectionswith CRESamong investors, industryleaders Matters.
Maintain planning timelines, documentation and trackers, and supporting weekly and biweekly coordination structures to keep execution on track.
Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
Conduct post-visit follow-up, including cross-team debriefs and stakeholder updatesوجل delt.
Support and contribute to process improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Strengthen partnerships acrossthe cleanenergy, policy,investorandcorporatecommunities.
Support coalition engagement and cross-team initiatives aligned with CRES’s mission and priorities.
Engagecust policymakers, industry actors and community partners connected to external relations programming.
Represent CRES at briefings, convenings and partner meetings, ensuring consistent professionalism and organizational alignment.
Identifyopportunities to elevate CRES’s presence among stakeholders and deepen engagement with petite audiences.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public policy, business, political science, environmentalstudiesorrelated fields.
Prior corporate work experience with exposure to business operations, investor relations,financeor organizational budgetingrequired.
Experience in external relations, partnership coordination, stakeholder engagement, governmentaffairsor event execution preferred.
Experience managing multiple simultaneous priorities and deadlinesrequired.
Familiarity with CRM platforms or partner-tracking systems preferred.
PMP or comparable project management certificationis stronglypreferred and considered an asset.
This is a full-time.runner exempt position with salary range of $120,000 - $125,000annually,commensuratewith experience.
