POSITION:
Reporting to the Vice President, Client Services, the Director of Business Development will oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the Client Services Department. With direct oversight of the Client Services team to ensure that open lines of effective communication exist with all levels of management throughout the organization, as well as external clients, this role will include the identification of new business opportunities, strengthening of existing client relationships, and facilitating consistent revenue/profitability growth across all lines of business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Market Expansion Develop, document, and execute a robust business development strategy to accelerate growth and market penetration; Identify emerging opportunities, industry trends, and competitive positioning to inform strategic planning; Collaborate daily with executive leadership to align business development initiatives with organizational goals. Client Engagement & Relationship Management Lead high-impact client acquisition efforts, targeting key decision-makers across real estate, healthcare, education, and government sectors; Foster long-term client relationships through consultative engagement, service optimization, and value-driven solutions; Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to enhance brand visibility and market reach. Proposal Development & Contract Negotiation
Oversee the development of compelling proposals, RFP responses, and presentations in collaboration with CBS cross-functional teams; Negotiate service agreements and contracts that balance client needs with operational and financial objectives. Operational Collaboration & Team Leadership
Partner closely with Accounting, Human Resources, and Operations to ensure seamless service delivery and superior client satisfaction; Oversee the Client Services team to ensure that open lines of effective communication exist with all levels of management throughout the organization, as well as external clients; Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and innovation. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required. MBA is highly preferred; 7+ years of progressive experience in business development, preferably in facilities management or janitorial services; Proven track record of securing large-scale contracts and driving revenue growth; Strong understanding of NYC urban/suburban commercial real estate and institutional markets; Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; Demonstrated proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and business proposal software; Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of Client Services professionals.
