This organization provides vital services to those in need, and you will play a key role in supporting its financial health and operational sustainability during this interim period. We are seeking a skilled and experienced finance professional with a strong nonprofit accounting background. In this role, you will manage financial operations, provide strategic insights, and ensure accurate stewardship of the organization’s resources. Key Responsibilities: Lead all accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Oversee month-end and year-end closings, preparing financial statements that reflect the organization’s mission and financial position. Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning aligned with organizational goals. Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and federal/state regulations to protect the organization’s funding. Manage cash flow, grants, and restricted funds to ensure resources are available for impactful programs. Support audits and prepare schedules and documentation in a timely manner. Provide financial reports to the Board of Directors and executive leadership to guide decision-making. Oversee preparation and submission of IRS Form 990 and other regulatory filings. Collaborate with program directors and department heads to manage financial aspects of grants and special projects. Mentor and support accounting staff, fostering their professional growth.
