Assistant Superintendent – Multifamily Construction

Full-Time Position Overview The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in the day-to-day field operations of multifamily construction projects. This role helps ensure projects are built safely, on schedule, and in accordance with company standards, contract documents, and local building codes. The Assistant Superintendent works closely with field staff, subcontractors, and project management to coordinate site activities and maintain quality control. Key Responsibilities Assist the Superintendent with daily on-site operations for ground-up and/or renovation multifamily projects Coordinate and monitor subcontractor work to ensure adherence to schedule, safety, and quality standards Help enforce site safety programs, OSHA requirements, and company policies Support short-term (3-week look-ahead) and long-term schedule planning Perform daily site walks to identify and resolve constructability, quality, and safety issues Assist with inspections, punch lists, and turnover activities Track daily field reports, manpower, and site logistics Coordinate material deliveries, site access, and staging Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite Communicate effectively with Superintendents, Project Managers, and subcontractors Support quality control efforts and ensure work complies with drawings and specifications Qualifications 3–7 years of field experience in multifamily or similar commercial construction Experience with ground-up multifamily construction preferred Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods Working knowledge of building codes, inspections, and safety requirements Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with construction technology (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, etc.) Preferred Experience Experience with wood-frame, podium, or wrap-style multifamily projects Experience assisting on projects valued at $20M+ OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Competitive salary based on experience Bonus or incentive programs (if applicable) Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match PTO and paid holidays Growth opportunities into Superintendent or Senior Superintendent role
