THE ROLE Senox is seeking to recruit aDirectorof ITto lead the design, implementation, security, and ongoing optimization of the company’s technology infrastructure and business systems to support operations across the United States and Canada. This role is accountable for ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable systems that enable the company’s continued growth and operational efficiency. The Director will manage a team of internal and external IT infrastructure and security professionals and collaborate closely with business leaders, application owners, and external partners.

CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal candidate must have proven experience leading companywide IT initiatives and scaling business systems and IT infrastructures in an organization with sophisticated manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain operations. Candidates must have advanced working knowledge of ERP systems used in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Candidates will have a proven ability to lead large‑scale IT projects from inception to completion and to demonstrate strong technical knowledge of IT systems, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity principles and frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the company’s business systems and IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with corporate growth plans and technology strategy.

Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and business units to identify and prioritize business systems and IT infrastructure and security initiatives that drive operational efficiency and competitive advantage.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve scalability, performance, and security.

Operational Reliability & Uptime

Serve as primary owner for core business software and analytical tools.

Ensure high availability of the company’s ERP environment, including all integrations with plant‑floor systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and e‑commerce platforms.

Maintain robust connectivity across all plants, branches, and distribution centers — including redundant network paths where needed.

Oversee reliable and secure Wi‑Fi and network access for warehouse scanners, plant‑floor tablets, and field devices.

Proactively monitor systems to identify and resolve issues before they impact operations.

Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Infrastructure Management

Oversee data center, cloud, and network operations to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Manage hybrid infrastructure (on‑premises servers, private/public cloud services, Microsoft 365).

Oversee network design, implementation, and operations, including SD‑WAN, VPN, connections between sites, and voice and unified communications platforms.

Standardize endpoint management and user support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and industrial PCs.

Implement infrastructure monitoring and performance management tools.

Ensure backup and disaster recovery plans are tested and ready for both IT systems and plant operational technology (OT).

Oversee the organization’s support desk operations, providing technical support to end‑users by troubleshooting issues and ensuring efficient use of IT systems.

Security & Compliance

Protect plant‑floor systems and remote field devices from cyber threats.

Enforce identity and access management standards, especially for shared equipment and rotating shift personnel.

Maintain compliance with applicable regulations in the US and Canada (e.g., data privacy laws, PCI if applicable).

Implement and maintain IT security policies, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

Field & Plant Technology Support

Lead IT support for handheld scanners and other plant‑floor and branch operations technologies, PCs, and other operational devices.

Ensure quick response to outages or downtime that could impact manufacturing, shipping, or customer orders.

Coordinate with plant managers and logistics leaders to anticipate IT needs for expansion or new equipment.

Manage service providers for networking, cloud hosting, plant‑floor cabling, and communications systems.

Negotiate vendor agreements for hardware, software, and managed services.

Maintain an infrastructure budget aligned with operational priorities and ROI goals.

Team Leadership and Competencies

Build and lead a high‑performing team of geographically dispersed IT infrastructure team, project manager(s), application developers, business and system analysts with a strong customer service orientation.

Develop staff through mentorship, performance management, and professional development.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including plants, warehouses, and executives.

Establish and track service level agreements (SLAs) for response and resolution times.

Foster a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within the IT group.

Experience leading teams in fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environments.

Strong ability to lead and inspire technical staff.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s a plus).

10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise applications, ERP/CRM management, or infrastructure experience, including 5+ years leading multi‑site operations.

Experience supporting manufacturing and distribution environments with high uptime requirements.

Deep knowledge of ERP systems, point‑of‑sale systems, and other enterprise applications and their infrastructure dependencies.

Background in both US and Canadian IT operations preferred.

Strong understanding of business processes across finance, supply chain, sales, and operations.

Demonstrated ability to manage cross‑functional projects and vendor relationships.

Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.

Expertise in network design, virtualization, cloud computing, and disaster recovery planning.

Network engineering and plant/distribution connectivity (SD‑WAN, LAN, wireless, fiber).

IT/OT convergence — understanding how plant systems and corporate IT integrate.

Microsoft 365 administration and enterprise mobility management.

Understanding of ITIL‑based service management and change control.

Understanding of cyber security risks and ability to mitigate.

Understanding of AI and establishing governance for the organization.

Strong operational problem‑solving skills, strategic thinking, and planning skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including manufacturing, warehouse, and executive staff.

Vendor negotiation and contract management expertise.

Experience leading an IT team of internal and external resources in a distributed organization.

Strong understanding of risk management and compliance standards.
