A well-established, mission-driven healthcare organization is seeking a
Director of Total Rewards
to lead enterprise-wide compensation, benefits, and employee well-being programs. This role partners closely with executive leadership to ensure total rewards strategies are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals—supporting the attraction, retention, and engagement of a diverse, high-performing workforce. What You’ll Do Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of compensation, benefits, and incentive programs. Ensure programs are internally equitable, externally competitive, and compliant with all applicable federal and state regulations (ERISA, FLSA, HIPAA, ACA, etc.). Oversee relationships with external vendors, including consultants, brokers, carriers, and plan administrators. Monitor program effectiveness, costs, and compliance; provide insights and recommendations to senior HR leadership. Develop and manage annual benefits and merit budgets in alignment with financial and workforce priorities. Drive employee communications and change management efforts related to total rewards programs. Identify and remediate compliance risks in partnership with internal stakeholders. Lead and develop a high-performing total rewards team, ensuring operational excellence and accuracy. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required. 10+ years of progressive experience in total rewards, compensation, and benefits; healthcare or hospital system experience strongly preferred. 5+ years of people leadership experience (team size 4+). Proven experience designing and managing compensation structures, incentive plans, and benefits for both clinical and non-clinical populations. Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting compensation and benefits. Strong analytical, communication, and executive-influencing skills. Professional certifications (CCP, CBP, CEBS, or similar) preferred.
