About the Role In this purpose-driven role, the
Activity Director
is responsible for enriching residents’ daily lives through meaningful, person-centered activities that promote dignity, comfort, and purpose. This role supports residents’ emotional, social, and cognitive well-being while fostering connection and community through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate engaging individual and group activities tailored to residents’ needs and functional levels
Ensure a variety of activities for both high- and low-functioning residents, including one-to-one activities as needed
Complete MDS Section F accurately and on time and develop the activities portion of residents’ care plans and annual assessments
Create and distribute a monthly activities calendar and prepare the facility newsletter
Coordinate at least two off-site activities per month and participate in community events relevant to the facility
Collaborate with the Corporate Events/Activities Coordinator on facility and employee events
Recruit, train, and oversee the facility’s volunteer program
Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) meetings and complete required monthly QA reports
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus at least 1 year of experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities in a healthcare or human services setting.
A minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution, plus 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or human services setting.
Completion of an Activities Director training course, plus 2 years of experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities in a healthcare or human services setting.
Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
