Overview
The Village of Evergreen Park is seeking an experienced municipal finance professional to serve as its Finance Director. This executive-level position is responsible for managing a $76 million annual budget, including a $37 million General Fund and a $16 million capital improvement program. Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership and oversight of all financial operations for the Village. This role manages accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, investments, audits, internal controls, cash management, and financial policy development. The Finance Director plays a critical role in long-range financial planning, capital planning, pension oversight, and debt management. The position coordinates the Village’s annual audit; works closely with the Mayor, department heads, and pension boards; and ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or a related field. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in fiscal operations. Experience with municipal audits, budgets, pension systems, and capital financing. Experience with Tax levies, TIFs, debt issuance, and treasury management. Preferred Qualifications
Municipal or government accounting. Prior experience as a Finance Director, Assistant Finance Director, or senior municipal finance professional preferred. CPA, CPFO, or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or related field. Experience with software conversions. Municipal auditing background welcomed. Work Schedule
Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary range of $155,000 – $170,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
