Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Facilities & Event Management reports directly to the Director of Facilities & Event Management. The position serves as the primary facilities operations point-of-contact for select athletic venues and serves as the primary game/event management point-of-contact for multiple intercollegiate athletic programs and sporting events. The position is also responsible for event setup and breakdown as well as the day-to-day facility maintenance of assigned facilities; including but not limited to maintenance, grounds, landscaping, IT, network/televisions, custodial, concessions/catering, inventory, parking operations, etc. The position will assist with the execution of assigned intercollegiate athletic contests as well as occasional third-party special events/rentals.
Essential Functions of the Job
The position performs daily routine maintenance, cleaning, orderliness and facility checks of assigned athletic facilities and directly responds to and/or dispatches any issues within assigned facilities requiring attention. (40%)
The position performs event operations preparation and execution of assigned intercollegiate athletic contests for multiple athletic programs, including producing timing/event sheets, facility setup/breakdown, coordinating event/security staffing, coordinating emergency medical staffing, coordinating law enforcement staff, communication and coordinating game officials and game management staff, etc. The position will serve as the lead event operations contact for multiple athletic programs and may serve as the secondary event operations contact for an athletic program(s). (25%)

The position manages assigned daily facility management systems, such as: Blackboard card access system, EMS scheduling system, venue key management system, budgeting system, sport field lighting scheduling system, scoring system, etc. (10%)

Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration or Closely Related Field
1 Year of Experience in Athletic Facilities and/or Event Management
Current First Aid & CPR Certifications

Master’s Degree
Previous Experience at the NCAA DI Level in Athletic Facilities and/or Event Management
NCAA Related Ensures that all Department of Athletics and university-related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the athletic department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretation from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
