Ember Search has been retained by a fast-growing, AI-native B2B SaaS company in NYC to hire their first VP / Head of Finance. This company is at a real inflection point. Just 2.5 years old, they are approaching $9M in ARR and growing roughly 20% month over month, with strong margins, retention, and capital efficiency underpinning that growth. They recently closed a significant Series A round and have scaled headcount rapidly as they invest ahead of demand. The business operates in fintech compliance, building an AI-native, multi-product platform that enables regulated financial firms to operate within SEC and FINRA requirements. The space is large, mission-critical, and still dominated by legacy point solutions that are not built for modern workflows or scale. With seven integrated modules and a land-and-expand model, the company believes it has a real opportunity to define the category. Until now, finance has been founder-led and accounting is outsourced. This role represents the transition to a dedicated finance leader who will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to decide how capital is deployed, how fast the business can scale responsibly, and how the financial foundation is built as complexity increases. Capital allocation and operating model: where to invest to drive growth efficiently Build the foundational finance layer (forecasting cadence, metrics, AR/AP process, systems) Create a data-driven hiring plan and help answer “who to hire and when” Partner with GTM leaders on pricing, packaging, and deal-level modeling Establish board-ready reporting and financial rigor without slowing execution Ideal profile
Led finance (or been the senior finance lead) in a high-growth B2B SaaS company, ideally Series A to B/C Comfortable in a multi-product SaaS environment with nuanced GTM and ROI calculations Strategic thought partner who can push back, set direction, and drive decisions Hands-on builder mentality (this is the first hire, not a large-team inherit) Location
