Building Attendant (Recreation Aide) — $16.90–$17.74
Day Camp and Sports Camp Leader (Recreation Leader) — $18.11–$22.01
Gym Attendant or Scorekeeper (Recreation Aide) — $16.90–$17.74
Facility Rental Reception Aide (Recreation Aide) — $16.90–$17.74
Facility Rental Reception Leader (Recreation Leader) — $18.11–$22.01
Fitness Attendant (Recreation Leader) — $18.11–$22.01
Summer Camp & Sports Camp Aide (Recreation Aide) — $16.90–$17.74
Teen Leader (Recreation Leader) — $18.11–$22.01
Therapeutic Recreation (Special Needs) Leader (Recreation Leader) — $18.11–$22.01
Safe Parking Attendant (Project Specialist) — $20.00–$24.30
Responsibilities Staff are responsible for maintaining and operating the programs and facilities described for each role, including bike workshop operations, building oversight, camp activities, customer service, and safety. Examples mentioned include fixing and maintaining bikes, inventory and cash handling, setting up and taking down workshops, assisting with events, greeting and assisting members or patrons, monitoring safety, and providing high levels of customer service. Some roles involve planning and implementing daily activities for children and youth, chaperoning field trips, and coordinating with camp leadership and parents. Other duties include room setup/cleanup for events, and overseeing facility rental patrons.
Ideal Candidate (example) Example: Bike Workshop Technician (Recreation Leader) — representative of the type of duties across roles: maintenance, repair, customer service, and basic cash handling during events.
Qualifications
Must be at least 15–17.5 years old depending on the position; some roles require at least 17.5 years old.
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License is desirable (some roles require it or treat it as a desirable qualification).
CPR/First Aid/AED Certification by 1 month from first day of employment (training provided by City of Union City during employment).
Work Permit if applicable (as required by position).
Other Requirements
Scheduled shifts will vary by program; staff must be available to work during the day, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
