The Regional Associate Director (RAD) is responsible for managing a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) in Pulmonary Fibrosis/Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). The RAD oversees regional medical activities, ensures timely interactions with Thought Leaders (TLs) and Health Care Providers (HCPs), and guides MSLs in responding to medical and scientific inquiries in line with company guidance.

The RAD participates in Field Medical Leadership meetings, translates Medical Strategy objectives into regional performance plans for MSLs, and fosters effective cross-functional relationships with Medical, Marketing, and Sales. The role includes supporting CRO-reported studies, coordinating MSL activities for BMS-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities Actively manages MSLs to support CRO-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies; facilitates patient recruitment and appropriate discussion of BMS investigational products. Ensure MSL collaboration with the clinical organization to enhance patient enrollment and appropriate site identification, investigator interaction, and community education for referrals. Provide recommendations and insights to the clinical development team on study and site feasibility. Ensure MSLs apply BMS Pharmacovigilance procedures and alert appropriate personnel to Adverse Events. Serve as primary liaison to investigators for investigator-sponsored research (ISR) and support the ISR submission process as needed.

Actively manages MSL performance assessments; provides ongoing coaching and feedback; supports MSL development plans. Ensure new MSLs receive training and opportunities for professional development. Demonstrates and promotes BMS values; builds team spirit. Ensure MSLs comply with Compliance procedures, Code of Conduct, PhRMA Code, GCP, and applicable FDA laws and regulations; verify training and alignment with requirements. Ensure MSL understanding of Adverse Event identification and reporting.

Position is field-based; RAD will be required to live in the territory or within 50 miles of the border.

Position Requirements

Terminal doctoral degree, MD, PharmD, or PhD, preferred.

In-depth knowledge of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and related fibrotic lung diseases, including diagnosis, treatment guidelines, and emerging therapies, including key scientific publications.

Clinical experience in interstitial lung disease with a broad medical background.

Minimum of 5-7 years in a clinical or pharmaceutical environment.

Minimum of 5 years field medical experience preferred.

Experience leading and working in cross-functional teams; proven track record managing multiple projects and priorities.

Coaching and mentoring within a geographically dispersed field medical organization.

Ability to navigate and lead in a highly matrix environment; capable of autonomous leadership.

Understanding of clinical research principles and US healthcare system, pharmaceutical industry, and health economic practices in the US.

Ability to work independently; travel required, including frequent travel to the PPK home office.

Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.

Compensation & Benefits Compensation Overview The Field - United States - US: $216,750 - $262,650. The starting compensation range for a full-time employee (FTE) basis; additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available based on eligibility. Final individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
