Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, departmental meetings, and serve as acting lab director as needed. Supervise and mentor residents/fellows in surgical pathology, cytology, intraoperative consultations, and autopsies; ensure timely case and report completion. Lead and contribute to daily consensus conferences, multidisciplinary case reviews, and other clinical discussions. Support medical education through teaching, SUNY Downstate faculty engagement, and residency/fellowship interviews. Assist with pathology service management, regulatory compliance, and communication across hospital departments. Participate in on-call rotations and other clinical duties as assigned. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM with rotating call. Qualifications
Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or AP/CP. New York Physician License. Wages and Benefits
Annual Base Salary: $323,400 based on a 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $411,260 , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below: Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520. 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits): Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement. Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days. Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates. Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
