Role Overview The President serves as the chief executive officer of the corporation, responsible for leadership and service to the whole school community. The President is guardian of the school's heritage and envisioner of its future, acting as a practicing Catholic and fostering the Catholic mission of Notre Dame School in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Ursula and Anne de Xainctonge. The President works closely with the entire administrative team—including the Principal, Director of Finance, Director of Development, and Director of Mission and Identity—to promote the goals of Notre Dame School.

Key Responsibilities

Promote academic excellence, maintain fiscal stability, and initiate long‑range planning.

Lead ongoing strategic planning to identify long‑term goals and ensure future sustainability.

Act as chief liaison between the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, board members, alumnae, and the broader school community.

Sustain the mission of the school by regularly reviewing and evaluating the mission statement and goals with the board, faculty, parents, and students.

Guide the religious growth of the school by ensuring opportunities to experience Christian life and liturgy.

Hire the Principal and, in consultation, set salaries, benefits, and staffing standards for professional staff.

Determine with the Principal the standards for quality Catholic education in the school’s tradition.

Oversee maintenance and growth of the school’s physical plant in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Director of Maintenance.

Hire the Director of Development and Director of Finance.

Oversee the Advancement Program and coordinate capital campaigns, donor cultivation, public relations, and fundraising events.

Prepare the annual budget with the Principal, Director of Finance, and Board Finance Committee; monitor the budget throughout the fiscal year.

Consult with the Director of Admissions regarding financial aid and scholarship decisions.

In consultation with the Principal, dismiss students with delinquent tuition accounts.

Appoint, supervise, and evaluate the Director of Finance and Director of Development and all advancement office personnel.

Seek appropriate counsel to ensure that the school’s portfolio is managed in the best interests of the school and in accordance with donor requirements.

Foster good public relations and maintain accurate public image of the school among alumnae, parents, colleges, feeder schools, and the community.

Foster strong alumnae relations and maintain relationships with the Archdiocese of New York, Jesuit Schools Network, and the Anne de Xainctonge Foundation.

Act as chief spokesperson and represent the school at civic, religious, and public functions.

Collaborate with volunteer groups and arrange staff participation at related meetings.

Compensation Salary range is $250,000 - $275,000.
