Club in Beaverton, Oregon is looking for a Tennis Academy Director. About the Role Tier 1 Performance is expanding into Beaverton. This is a brand new location with significant growth opportunities and meaningful work ahead. You will work directly with Tier 1PNWleadership to extend an already successful academy model into Oregon and build it from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone ready to lead, build, design systems, and shape the culture of what will become the premier junior performance hub in Beaverton, OR. Position Summary
The Head Tennis Professional is the primary leader responsible for the development, growth, and improvement of all junior tennis athletes within Tier 1 Performance at Beaverton Sports Club. This role is deeply hands on and tennis focused, combining leadership with significant on court coaching. You will be the driving force behind athlete progress, daily development standards, and the technical identity of the program. You will design and manage the complete junior training pathway, deliver high quality coaching, build long term development plans, evaluate athletes consistently, and ensure measurable improvement across all stages of Tier 1 Performance. You will work closely with Tier 1PNWat Woodinville Sports Club to align teaching methodologies, culture, and performance expectations to maintain continuity across both locations. You will work directly with Director of Athletics of Tier 1 Performance, to ensure the program is successfully developing and creating players, generating revenue, building sustainable programming, and aligning with the broader Tier 1 vision and growth strategy. This full-time salaried position requires consistent on court presence, private lesson coaching, tournament coaching, and daily engagement with athletes and families. Hours will vary and include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and non traditional schedules aligned with junior development cycles. Local tournament travel is required to watch players compete, support match play development, and reinforce Tier 1 standards in competition environments. This is a brand new club and academy build. The early phase will require flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to put in extended hours as programs are launched, systems are implemented, and culture is established. Tournament travel and regular match observation and coaching are expected as part of building the competitive identity of the academy. To ensure alignment and continuity, the selected candidate will spend approximately one month embedded at Tier 1PNWat Woodinville Sports Club prior to starting in Beaverton, working closely with leadership, coaches, and management to learn Tier 1 systems, standards, and culture before leading the Oregon expansion. Key Responsibilities
Lead and run the entire junior development pathway from Red Ball to High Performance Provide on court coaching across developmental and high performance groups Build individualized long term development plans for athletes Apply Tier 1’s teaching standards, on court methodology, and training systems Use video, data, and modern tracking tools to measure progression and performance Attend local tournaments to observe athletes, evaluate match play, and guide development plans Program Creation and Expansion
Build out brand new programming and seasonal plans Create tournament pathways, travel structures, and match play systems Establish the High Performance identity for the Beaverton site Support revenue generation through private lessons, programming growth, and academy expansion Attend tournaments regularly to coach players, scout talent, and expand the academy presence Coaching Team Leadership
Help build, lead, and manage a team of tennis coaches Recruit, mentor, guide, and oversee coaching staff as the program grows Create clear expectations for professionalism, communication, and athlete care Implement consistent training methodology in line with Tier 1PNWstandards Support coaches through ongoing education, feedback, and daily oversight Culture, Community, and Parent Communication
Build an athlete first, high care, high standard environment Represent the academy at practices, events, workshops, and tournaments Maintain strong family communication and set clear development expectations Help shape the culture, identity, and reputation of Tier 1 Beaverton Operational Expectations
This is a full time salaried role with an expected workload that will vary week to week and regularly exceed traditional business hours Early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and tournament travel are required On court coaching Program management and growth Administration and planning Tournament coaching and match observation Work directly with Tier 1 leadership to align athlete development, revenue creation, and long term program success Align programming, standards, and operations with Tier 1PNWleadership Help shape facility environment, athlete touchpoints, and performance culture Support the long term growth plan of the Beaverton Sports Club location Compensation and Benefits
Total compensation will be heavily dependent on experience and is expected to range from $110,000 to $150,000 annually Health insurance benefits included Paid time off and holiday benefits included Opportunity to grow compensation as the academy and programming expand Reporting Structure
This role reports directly to the Director of Athletics for Tier 1 Performance Work Authorization
Candidates must be available to work in the United States Qualifications
USTAPlayer Development experience or equivalent national level junior development exposure Proven track record of developing juniors from early stage to tournament level, collegiate, or high performance pathways Demonstrated experience building, managing, and leading coaching teams Strong understanding of long term athlete development and performance training Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Experience with video analysis, player evaluation, and data driven development USPTA,PTR, or international certification preferred Ability to thrive in a new build environment with significant program creation, culture development, and community outreach Who Will Succeed in This Role
