H-E-B
Role Summary As a Senior Technical Product Manager, Enterprise Payments, you will lead the strategy, design, and delivery of H‑E‑B’s core, enterprise‑facing payments systems that power both in‑store and eCommerce experiences at scale. This role owns the foundational platforms and integrations behind the scenes: processors and acquirers, gateway architecture and failover, tokenization and data security, authorization performance, and long‑term payments strategy that enable H‑E‑B to reliably accept, optimize, and scale payments across channels. While this role supports both online and in‑store payments, extensive in‑person POS and terminal experience is critical.
Responsibilities
Own H‑E‑B’s core payments platform strategy, including processors, acquirers, gateway design, redundancy, and tokenization
Define and evolve long‑term payments architecture to improve resilience, scalability, and flexibility while reducing single‑vendor risk
Deliver enterprise‑facing payments capabilities across authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting
Partner closely with engineering to translate network, processor, and security requirements into scalable platform capabilities
Optimize payment performance and economics, including approval rates, latency, routing strategies, and cost‑to‑accept
Act as the connective tissue across Payments Engineering, POS, Digital Product, Store Ops, Accounting, Security, and external vendors
Be able and willing to get into the weeds: writing requirements, prioritizing work, and unblocking complex cross‑functional initiatives
What You’ll Bring
Preferred 7+ years of product management experience, ideally within payments, fintech, acquirers or have done payments at large‑scale retailers
Deep in‑person POS experience; familiarity with card‑present flows, EMV, etc.
Strong understanding of merchant acquiring, processors, gateways, and end‑to‑end card payment flows.
Comfort operating within agile product practices adapted for enterprise platform work.
