The Latin American Health Alliance (LAHA) is a dedicated non-profit organization based in Central Massachusetts, focused on improving the health and well-being of underserved communities, particularly the Latinx population. We provide culturally sensitive addiction recovery services, healthcare access, and educational support. Our mission is to foster long-term health, stability, and empowerment, promoting sustainable solutions for individuals facing significant challenges related to substance use disorders. Position Summary
The Clinical Director at Hector Reyes House (HRH) provides senior clinical leadership overseeing all aspects of clinical service delivery, supervision, and quality of care for Latino men with substance use disorders (SUD) and moderate-to-severe mental health (MH) conditions. The Clinical Director must be a full-time Licensed Professional (LICSW, LMHC, or LADC1 in good standing) with demonstrated experience, competency, and/or training in both addiction and mental health treatment. This position delivers clinical supervision to licensure-track/masters-level clinicians, bachelors-level paraprofessionals, and recovery specialists, ensuring fidelity to evidence-based practices (e.g., MI, CBT, trauma-informed care) and integrated SUD/MH treatment. The role drives regulatory compliance with DPH, BSAS, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2; manages utilization review and psychiatric/medication coordination via partnerships; and collaborates with executive leadership on policies, program development, and performance improvement in a fast-paced residential setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Clinical operations
Oversee all clinical operations including assessments, treatment planning, service delivery, discharge planning, and continuity of care. Oversee intake, screening, and admission processes, including ASAM placement criteria, eligibility verification, and coordination of referrals. Lead case conferences, treatment team meetings, and complex clinical consultations to ensure coordinated, client-centered care. Provide clinical oversight for crisis intervention, safety planning, behavioral escalations, and coordination with emergency or external providers when needed.
Supervision, training, and team leadership
Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a multidisciplinary team of case managers, recovery coaches and medication specialists ensuring high-quality and evidence-based patient care. Guide staff in the use of evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, harm-reduction strategies, relapse-prevention planning, and co-occurring disorder treatment. Develop, implement, and facilitate ongoing clinical training, professional development, and corrective coaching to strengthen staff performance and clinical quality. Promote a professional, ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive clinical environment for both clients and staff. Demonstrate leadership, accountability, adaptability, and sound clinical judgment in all situations.
Compliance, quality, and policy
Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and all privacy and security requirements for protected health information. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop, update, and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and workflows aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., DPH, BSAS, CARF/Joint Commission where applicable), including preparation for audits, inspections, and corrective action plans. Support program development, clinical model design, and implementation of new services or treatment tracks.
Utilization management and documentation
Complete and oversee insurance authorizations, concurrent reviews, continued-stay requests, and clinical justifications in collaboration with utilization review and billing teams. Lead case conferences, treatment team meetings, and complex clinical consultations to ensure coordinated, client-centered care.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (speaking and writing). Active LICSW, LMHC, or LADC1 license in Massachusetts, in good standing. Minimum 3 years post-licensure clinical experience in SUD treatment, including co-occurring MH disorders. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in behavioral health/residential settings. Strong cultural sensitivity/adaptability for Latino communities. Proven collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to individualized recovery plans and person-centered treatment models.
