Overview
Monomoy Advisors is looking for an entrepreneurial, highly motivated, experienced, detail oriented and consultative professional to join our growing team as Associate Director of FP&A. As a key member of the Decision Support team, this individual will assist with the analysis, preparation, and presentation of key business drivers and financial results for Monomoy’s Decision Support clients. This highly visible role will include frequent interactions with senior leaders. The candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication abilities. The industries that Monomoy currently services are weighted towards biotech, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, but we plan to grow the industrial footprint over time.
In This Opportunity, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans Develop and maintain financial models for various business units and projects Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for financial analysis Support the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis and management reporting Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making Build and own valuation models to support acquisitions, divestitures, capital raises, and strategic initiatives Assist in the evaluation of potential investments, mergers, and acquisitions Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy Provide insights and recommendations to Sr. leadership on key business drivers / financial performance Stay current on industry best practices & trends in FP&A; drive continuous improvement and innovation Be the day to day face of Monomoy to the clients on which you are engaged
Experience, Education, and Specialized Knowledge and Skills
BA/BS in Business, preferably in Finance and /or Accounting MBA or CPA preferred 8+ years in a FP&A role Strong experience and knowledge of long-range planning, budgeting and valuation Hard skills: exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, with strong business acumen Soft skills: communication, teamwork, and adaptability critical for client facing role Advanced Excel modeling skills. Familiarity with Power Query and PowerPivot a plus Solid understanding of the biotech industry and the R&D process is essential Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while managing multiple priorities Experience with a range of ERP systems (Great Plains, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.) preferred Prior experience in a startup, fast growth company with understanding of how to scale business systems is a plus
