About the Role TTX is seeking a Director, Telematics Product Management to lead the commercialization and value realization of our established telematics and mesh hardware ecosystem.

TTX has made significant, long‑term investments in telematics hardware and data infrastructure across its railcar fleet. The technology is proven and deployed at scale. The opportunity now is to translate that capability into measurable business value, both internally and externally.

This role is not focused on building hardware or core platforms. Instead, it is centered on owning product strategy, defining the value story, and executing a partner‑led go‑to‑market approach that drives adoption, revenue, and ROI.

What You’ll Own

Product Strategy & Value Creation:

Lead the product strategy for telematics offerings with a clear focus on monetization, customer value, and internal ROI.

Commercialization & Go‑to‑Market:

Define pricing, packaging, and commercialization models, leveraging strategic partners rather than building a standalone sales organization.

Internal Value Realization:

Quantify and unlock economic value across car‑hire, fleet operations, billing, tax, and related use cases.

Customer & Partner Engagement:

Serve as the primary business‑facing product leader with railroad customers, industry partners, and commercialization partners (notably Buckeye).

Cross‑Functional Leadership:

Align technical teams, fleet/car‑hire, billing, tax, and strategy stakeholders around clear product priorities and outcomes.

Execution & Storytelling:

Create compelling success stories and real‑world demonstrations that show telematics delivering operational and financial impact.

Ideal Background

Proven experience launching and commercializing products, particularly hardware‑enabled, IoT, telematics, or industrial solutions

Strong product and commercialization mindset with the ability to turn data and capabilities into compelling business narratives

Comfortable partnering closely with technical teams without being the technical owner

Data‑driven, outcome‑oriented leader who has taken products from pilot or concept through real adoption and revenue

Experience in transportation, rail, industrial, or asset‑intensive environments preferred

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field

5+ years of product management experience with demonstrated value creation

Strong cross‑functional leadership and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

MBA or advanced degree

Experience with telematics, transportation, or industrial IoT

Familiarity with mesh networking or commercial hardware ecosystems

Why This Role This is a high‑impact leadership role at the intersection of product strategy, commercialization, and industry transformation. The technology is in place; what’s needed now is a leader who can unlock its full business potential
