Legislative & Regulatory Policy, Assistant Director / Associate Director
Apply for a leadership role with EY’s Legislative & Regulatory Policy team, based in Washington, DC. In this position you will support the development and execution of EY’s public‑policy strategy, engage with lawmakers and regulators, and shape legislative priorities that impact EY and its clients. Key Responsibilities
Assist the EY Office of Public Policy team in developing and executing strategy, including engagement with Washington lawmakers and stakeholders. Develop subject‑matter expertise in critical policy areas, monitor congressional hearings and related events, and maintain a comprehensive depth of knowledge on current legislative developments. Produce written deliverables for internal use and distribution, including policy briefs, briefing notes, and internal communications. Support the EY legislative team and EYPAC representatives in political activities relevant to the firm’s priorities. Manage communications distribution channels to ensure timely and effective dissemination of policy information. Skills and Attributes for Success
Demonstrated understanding of U.S. congressional and presidential policy‑making processes, including the roles of the White House, Senate, House, executive agencies, think tanks and associations. Proven research, writing, and editing skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines. Strong professional networking and public‑policy advocacy skills. Proficiency with communication tools and techniques available within the firm. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment. Independent monitoring of legislative and public‑policy issues, summarizing critical points for distribution within EY. Ability to anticipate policy trends and help formulate advocacy strategies in response to emerging legislative developments. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 8–10+ years of relevant experience for Assistant Director; 10–12+ years for Associate Director, including experience on Capitol Hill, lobbying or regulatory policy. Availability to attend EY and client events some evenings and weekends. Commitment to working in the EY Washington, DC office on a majority of days per week. Preferred Qualifications
