Job Description:
The IT Director will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, management, and execution of technology initiatives within our community bank. This individual will ensure IT systems and services support organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and exceptional customer/client experiences, while proactively planning for emerging technologies such as AI.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Direction & Planning:
Develop and execute the bank's IT vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives and the bank's strategic plan.
Lead IT initiatives that drive innovation, efficiency, and growth.
Collaborate with leadership to identify technology needs and opportunities.
Budgeting & Financial Management:
Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Monitor expenditures, forecast future needs, and report on IT financial performance.
Vendor Relationship Management:
Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
Negotiate contracts and oversee service-level agreements to ensure optimal performance and value.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all IT systems and processes comply with banking regulations (e.g., FFIEC, GLBA, etc.).
Work in alliance with Information Security Officer to oversee cybersecurity measures, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning for IT department and systems.
Work in conjunction with the Risk Management Department to maintain access controls for IT systems
Adhere to all relevant security responsibilities as outline in the Bank's Information Security Program and Written Security Program
Assure the integrity of bank data and maintain information security
Primary on-site contact for IT audits and exams.
Client & Customer Experience Delivery:
Ensure secure, reliable, and user-friendly technology solutions for both internal users and bank customers.
Lead implementation of digital banking services and support channels.
AI Planning & Emerging Technologies:
Identify opportunities for AI and automation to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
Lead AI-related projects, ensuring ethical use and regulatory compliance.
Identify strategic systems and opportunities to support the organization's goals
General:
Responsible for all technology, including system (hardware and software) and process design, implementation, security, telecommunications, and maintenance for such systems.
Responsible for maintaining, updating, and purchasing equipment.
Recruit, hire, train and supervise staff.
Develop and maintain IT Policies and Procedures.
Comply with federal, state, and Bank policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within financial services.
Strong knowledge of banking technology, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity best practices.
Demonstrated experience with IT budgeting and vendor management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Experience with AI technologies and digital transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
