
Overview
We are parntering with an early stage consumer products company with annual revenue of $25–50M seeking a hands‑on Accounting Director to own the day‑to‑day accounting function and help scale financial operations as the business continues to grow. This role will be responsible for monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, and team leadership.
The ideal candidate has strong consumer products and inventory accounting experience, is comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment, and can balance tactical execution with building scalable processes.
Key Responsibilities
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on inventory controls, cycle counts, and valuation
Monitor COGS, gross margin trends, and manufacturing or co‑packer variances
Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting processes
Manage external auditors, tax advisors, and other third‑party providers
Support tax compliance, including sales tax, use tax, and income tax filings (with external providers)
Identify opportunities to streamline close, reporting, and inventory processes
Lead and develop the accounting team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA preferred
Public Accounting experience preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience
Prior experience in consumer products, CPG, retail, or manufacturing environments
Prior team leadership or management experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
ERP experience (NetSuite, Intacct, Workday, Oracle, or similar)
Compensation $170,000 per year
