Adventist World Radio Guam Broadcast facility is looking for a maintenance director who will be responsible for the management of the maintenance department.

Responsibilities Create a preventive maintenance schedule providing weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual maintenance schedules for the department. During a weekly meeting with the maintenance director, the site manager will receive a weekly planning and prioritization checklist of tasks for the Maintenance team will also include a list of tasks completed the previous week. Maintain all AWR-owned buildings in good repair, including care for the electrical and lighting, plumbing, air conditioning, and structural systems.

A water supply system must be maintained, including cisterns and water lines. A backup power system must also be maintained, including a power generator and fuel tank.

Maintain effective security systems throughout AWR facilities, including anti theft and fire alarm systems, and antenna field access controls and signs (excluding the RF system controls). Maintain gates and outside lights. Emergency power and water contingencies must be maintained in case of natural disaster, and buildings must be protected from high wind.

Maintain AWR-owned vehicles in good repair, including station cars, trucks, tractors, backhoe, and grounds equipment. Be responsible for vehicle issuing according to GUOC guidelines. Knowledge of heavy equipment machinery is a plus.

Maintain the grounds well, including grass, trees, shrubs and flowers, fences, antenna fields, and paved and unpaved access roads. The erosion control plan must be carefully maintained.

Maintain the tower structural support system, including anchor rods, tie-down anchors, guy wire ground attachment points, transmission line supports, and underground power lines, in good repair.

The Maintenance Director will play a pivotal role in providing training, education, and techniques for handling hazardous materials. He will also be responsible for providing and maintaining the SPCC documentation, training, and certification, ensuring our staff is well-prepared and compliant with safety regulations.

Provide yearly budgetary recommendations to the site manager.

Preferred: experience in the operations of backhoe, tractor, excavator, etc.

Other duties assigned by the site manager.

Qualifications

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facility management, or a related discipline.

Significant experience in maintenance management or a comparable senior position.

Proven leadership and team management capabilities.

Extensive knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance best practices.

Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.

Thorough understanding of safety and environmental regulations.

Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and during emergencies.

Willingness to work irregular hours as required for maintenance emergencies.

General familiarity with carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, roofing, and grounds maintenance.

Compensation 68% - 98% of the Guam Micronesia Mission remuneration scale.
