Senior HR Specialist (Benefits & Leaves) Acton, MA (Onsite) | Full-Time | $71,000 – $80,000/year

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a

Senior HR Specialist

to oversee benefits administration and manage the full employee leave program. This role is ideal for an HR professional with strong technical knowledge of benefits, leaves, and compliance who enjoys providing high-quality service to employees while maintaining accurate HR data and processes.

This is a

direct hire ,

on-site

position, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Position Overview The Senior HR Specialist is responsible for administering all employee benefit programs, managing leave cases from start to finish, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, vendor communication, and HRIS updates, while also supporting benefits audits, renewals, onboarding, and training administration.

Key Responsibilities Benefits Administration

Administer all employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and wellness initiatives.

Serve as the main point of contact for benefits questions, issue resolution, and coordination with vendors.

Conduct new-hire benefits onboarding and support UKG enrollment.

Assist with annual plan renewals, benefits audits, and open enrollment activities.

Leave Administration

Manage the full leave lifecycle including

FMLA, PFML, ADA, STD/LTD, workers’ compensation , company leave policies, and related documentation.

Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and plan-level regulations.

Partner with managers and employees to communicate leave status, next steps, and return-to-work requirements.

HR Operations & Support

Maintain accurate HRIS and benefit/leave data; produce reports and analyze trends as needed.

Support training program administration including recordkeeping and scheduling.

Provide timely, professional support to employees regarding benefits, policies, and programs.

Requirements Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience

in HR specializing in benefits administration and leave management.

Strong understanding of

FMLA, PFML, ADA, workers’ compensation, and disability programs.

Experience managing vendor relationships and resolving employee benefits issues.

Proficiency with

HRIS systems (UKG experience a plus)

and strong data accuracy.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.

Strong interpersonal communication and customer service mindset.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred.

Preferred Experience & Skills

Experience in a

manufacturing or industrial setting .

Familiarity with benefits audits, renewals, and compliance reporting.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
