Senior Preconstruction Manager Commercial Interiors

A well-established and growing commercial interiors construction firm is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts on complex interior build-outs and renovations across corporate, healthcare, life sciences, higher education, and commercial office environments.

Senior Preconstruction Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full preconstruction process for commercial interiors projects from concept through GMP
  • Oversee budgeting, estimating, value engineering, and cost modeling for interior renovations and build-outs
  • Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates using market data and historical cost analysis
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and cost risks
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal operations teams to align scope, schedule, and budget
  • Assist in schedule development and milestone tracking during preconstruction
  • Prepare detailed trade scopes, bid packages, and subcontractor leveling
  • Provide strategic guidance on interior systems, finishes, phasing, and occupied-space construction
  • Mentor junior estimators and support continuous improvement of preconstruction processes

Senior Preconstruction Manager Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial interiors construction
  • Strong background in preconstruction, estimating, and project delivery
  • Proven experience with corporate interiors, healthcare interiors, life sciences, or higher-ed projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (experience considered in lieu)
