OVERVIEW
The Fence Installation Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field operations of fence installation projects. This includes supervising installation crews, coordinating schedules, ensuring work is completed to company standards and safety guidelines, and maintaining compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. The Superintendent must work closely with Project Managers to ensure project timelines, materials, and labor needs are communicated and managed efficiently. Regular communication—whether by phone, email, text, or in-person meetings—is required to coordinate project progress, address site issues, and relay updates. This role requires a combination of leadership, technical knowledge, and physical capability in outdoor construction environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in weekly meetings, as needed, with production team and PMs to review project paperwork, ask PMs questions/clarifications, and review current projects, and schedule production and upcoming projects
Contact and meet at sites with Client/Customer Reps/Superintendents to review layout, readiness, scope of work, etc. for future/scheduled projects
Review materials list and drawings with PM and assist with material procurement
Procure equipment, project specific concrete, and/or other required subcontractor/vendors
Schedule, coordinate, kick off crews assigned to specific projects.
Problem solve, troubleshoot, and support Crew Leaders during projects as required
Communicate field changes, scope revisions, etc. with Salesman/PM to facilitate change orders
Receive, review, and organize project paperwork
Perform QA/QC process and quantity verifications as required on finished projects to include photo uploads to project files
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Industry Experience
5+ years of experience
in fence installation, preferably with a focus on commercial projects.
Proven track record managing
commercial fence installation and repair projects , including chain link, ornamental, vinyl, and other common fence types.
Experience working with various fence materials and understanding their installation techniques and maintenance requirements.
Supervisory and Leadership Experience
At least
2-3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role , overseeing fence installation crews and subcontractors.
Experience scheduling, assigning tasks, and managing crew productivity on-site.
Ability to enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with project managers, clients, suppliers, and team members.
Project Management Skills
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications related to fencing projects.
Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation to keep projects on time and within budget.
Technical Knowledge
Understanding of construction site operations, including excavation, concrete work, and fence post setting.
Ability to troubleshoot installation issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, and vehicles commonly used in fence installation.
Safety and Compliance
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations affecting construction and fencing work (including Florida-specific codes, if applicable).
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
Ability to train and mentor crew members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Effective conflict resolution skills for managing onsite disputes or client concerns
