Duties and Responsibilities
Technical
Develop, implement and maintain a strategy for leading and growing the EE team as they continue to evolve and expand their subject matter expertise.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert within their engineering discipline and provide project support in that role.
Act as the Engineer of Record, as needed, to support various projects; multiple PE state registrations may be required depending on business needs.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations, projects, and systems.
Develop functional relationships with the organization’s regional leadership to ensure that the regions receive the necessary engineering support.
Ensure engineers are qualified, experienced, trained, and prepared to support engineering needs on projects, proposals, and execution in the field, and that we have engineers with the right skills and experience on projects.
Support the maintenance of EE industry standards for the company and communicate information across the company.
Support the QC group with technical engineering reviews and support QC resourcing with appropriate SME resources.
Specification of major equipment, development of equipment bid packages, technical equipment and commercial reviews, equipment bid recommendations, equipment drawing reviews.
Serve as a technical point of contact to clients for technical and project progress related queries.
Support client development and relationships; maintain current client relationships and identify new opportunities within existing client portfolios.
Possess and maintain broad and in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, and standards related to electrical engineering.
Responsible for process development related to electrical engineering.
Develop concept designs, alternative options, engineering calculations, analysis, resource allocation, and engineering estimates for projects.
Perform or oversee designs for projects, developing conceptual design, and communicating the design to clients.
Maintain knowledge of utilities and oil & gas industry standards and codes. Responsible for enforcing and maintaining all applicable standards/codes within the EE team.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems, develop/review complex electrical system models and validate various system study findings/recommendations, develop electrical specifications for major electrical equipment, datasheets for instruments, specifications for PLC/DCS panel systems.
Training, Development and Career Pathing
Help support the discipline engineering management in the development of career pathing within their disciplines.
Work with executive leadership to develop and maintain the overall strategy for engineering training and development.
Develop an EE team growth plan to build a growth strategy, identify current gaps, and implement a plan for their resolution.
Responsible for growing a team, developing and maintaining programs that train, coach, and mentor engineers and designers.
Evaluate, provide guidance, provide feedback, and run performance reviews with direct reports.
Process
Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
Business Development
Review and approve proposals, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
Assign appropriate technical resources to support the regions during the development of proposals.
Help build and grow business opportunities by supporting and maintaining existing client relationships as well as supporting the regions with new clients and workstreams.
Maintain a pulse on industry business cycles, trends, and technology and prioritize BD efforts toward high‑potential and top opportunities.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
A certain level of billability is required.
Occasional travel to various CEPC offices and client offices.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering field required.
Minimum fifteen (15) years of industry‑related experience.
Five (5) years of leadership or management experience.
Licensure as a Professional Engineer.
Construction knowledge and field experience.
Salary Range:
$160K - $220K (DOE)
