About the Role As an experienced Senior Underwriter (Hard Money Underwriter) with a strong background in real estate‑backed lending, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in underwriting for Fix & Flip, Bridge, and Ground‑Up Construction (GUC) loans and be comfortable working in a fast‑paced lending environment where speed, accuracy, and risk management are critical.
Key Responsibilities
Underwrite hard money loan transactions including Fix & Flip, Bridge, and Ground‑Up Construction (GUC) loans
Review borrower credit, experience, liquidity, and financial strength
Analyze property valuations including appraisals, BPOs, and market data
Review construction budgets
Calculate and assess LTV, LTC, ARV, and cash‑to‑close
Identify and mitigate risk while balancing deal execution
Communicate underwriting decisions clearly with internal teams
Ensure loans meet company guidelines and investor requirements
Participate in loan committee discussions as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of direct hard money underwriting experience
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
Experience underwriting Ground‑Up Construction and Fix & Flip loans
Strong understanding of real estate valuation and construction risk
Ability to analyze complex loan structures and borrower profiles
Detail‑oriented with strong decision‑making skills
Comfortable working under tight deadlines
