# HR & Public Relations ManagerVA SHOP - INDEPENDENCE, VA 24348## Description### Position SummaryThe Human Resources & Public Relations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day human resources operations while leading the company’s internal and external engagement efforts. This role serves as a key culture ambassador, supporting employees, strengthening community relationships, and promoting the company as an employer of choice.---## Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pmSalary range: $60,000-$80,000Benefits:* 401(k)* Health insurance 100% paid for employee* Paid time off* Vision insurance 100% paid for employee* Dental insurance 100% paid for employee* Life insuranceKey Responsibilities### Human Resources* Manage core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and policy administration* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations* Maintain employee records and HR documentation* Support management and employees with HR-related guidance and best practices* Assist with benefits administration and employee communications### Public Relations & Community Engagement* Arrange and coordinate all employee events, including company celebrations, recognition programs, and team-building activities* Attend career fairs, job fairs, and recruiting events as a company representative* Participate in appropriate local organizations, industry groups, and community events to promote the company* Maintain relationships with local high schools and community colleges, particularly for trade and workforce development programs* Manage and grow the company’s high school and community college internship program* Support employer branding efforts and positive public visibility within the community## Work Environment & Expectations* Combination of office-based work and community engagement* Occasional evening or weekend attendance at events or career fairs* Collaborative role requiring discretion, professionalism, and initiative## Qualifications## Minimum Requirements* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)* Minimum of **2 years of experience** in human resources, public relations, or a related role* Working knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices* Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills* Ability to represent the company professionally with employees, students, educators, and community partners---## Preferred Qualifications* Professional HR certification such as: + **PHR (Professional in Human Resources)** + **SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional)** + or equivalent HR certification* Experience coordinating employee events and community outreach initiatives* Experience working with internship programs, educational institutions, or workforce development organizations* Strong presentation and networking skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
