GCON is seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist who is passionate about storytelling, collaboration, and elevating brand presence in a fast-paced, technically complex environment. This role is ideal for a strong communicator who can translate construction and engineering concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with public agencies, private clients, industry partners, and internal teams. You’ll work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, business development, and leadership to strengthen GCON’s voice across social media, internal communications, media outreach, and industry positioning within the AEC sector. This position is to be performed on site at our North Phoenix corporate headquarters.

What You’ll Do
Own day-to-day execution of social media across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
Develop and manage a dynamic content calendar aligned with company and business-unit priorities
Create, write, schedule, and publish engaging content in a fast-moving environment
Track and analyze performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth, impressions, clicks) and provide actionable insights
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform content strategy
Writing, Storytelling & Brand Voice
Write, edit, and publish blogs that showcase GCON’s projects, expertise, and thought leadership
Collaborate with project teams and subject matter experts to translate technical information into clear, compelling stories
Maintain consistent tone, accuracy, and quality across all written materials
Support writing needs including project profiles, award submissions, website updates, leadership messaging, and company announcements
Internal Communications & Culture
Support internal communications that strengthen alignment, transparency, and culture
Develop internal updates, newsletters, and employee-focused content
Ensure internal messaging is timely, clear, and consistent across the organization
Media & Industry Engagement
Conduct media and industry research to identify storytelling and placement opportunities
Develop targeted, technically accurate media pitches and story angles
Monitor news and trends within the AEC industry and key markets
Business Development Support
Utilize the proposal knowledgebase to source and tailor content highlighting GCON’s capabilities, experience, and differentiators
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of experience communications, marketing, PR, or agency-equivalent roles (AEC or professional services experience preferred)
Strong media relations skills with trade, business, or regional outlets
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging, accessible content
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfort working under pressure and adapting to shifting deadlines
Willingness to learn and understand construction-related concepts
Ability to travel for select engagements Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
