that is looking to hire a
Senior Director, Business Development
as part of its senior leadership team.
This is a genuinely senior role, reporting into executive leadership, with real ownership over
growth strategy, new business, and key client relationships . It’s a great opportunity for someone who knows the
IRB space
and wants more influence over commercial direction, not just a quota.
What the role looks like day to day
Leading business development strategy across sponsors, CROs, and research partners
Identifying and winning new business while also growing existing accounts
Building long-term relationships with senior decision-makers in clinical research
Working closely with leadership on market positioning, pipeline strategy, and growth plans
Keeping a close eye on the market, competitors, and where future opportunities sit
This isn’t a “hands off” role, you’ll be expected to think strategically and stay close to clients.
What they’re looking for
Solid experience in the clinical research industry (5+ years)
Previous commercial IRB experience is essential
A proven background in business development or sales, ideally at a senior level
Comfortable opening doors, managing strategic accounts, and closing deals
Someone credible with sponsors and CROs, not a transactional salesperson
Confident working in a fast-moving, growing environment
Degree preferred, MBA a bonus, but experience matters more than titles here.
