Serato is looking for a Mid-Level Creative Producer/Editor who thrives at the intersection of creativity and execution. If you’re someone who can take a concept from spark to screen—balancing timelines, budgets, and artistic integrity—you’ll feel right at home here.
In this hybrid role, you’ll guide video content from the first brainstorm through to final delivery, ensuring every piece feels unmistakably Serato: crafted with intention, musicality, and cultural relevance.
What You’ll Be Doing 1. Production & Project Management Lead the Process: Own the planning, coordination, and delivery of creative projects—keeping them on track, on budget, and aligned with Serato’s standards. On-Set Leadership: Run small-to-midsize shoots across LA, including call sheets, shot lists, crew sourcing, locations, and permits. Vendor & Freelancer Management: Build strong relationships with external partners, negotiate contracts, and maintain smooth production and post-production workflows. Quality Control: Review and approve final assets to ensure they meet brand, technical, and creative expectations.
2. Hands-On Creative Editing Edit with Precision: Assemble rough and final cuts, color finish, and sound master using FCPX, Adobe Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. Social-First Content: Produce high-impact assets for social and web platforms (9:16, 4:5, etc.) with a strong grasp of current trends and best practices. Stay Organized: Maintain clean, structured project files and contribute to the upkeep of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
Who You Are
Experience: 2–4 years in film/video production with hands-on on-set experience (e.g., Line Producer, Production Coordinator). Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in FCPX, Adobe Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, with a solid understanding of codecs, compression, and digital delivery specs. Musicality: A strong ear for music and familiarity with music production tools. You know how to cut to rhythm and use sound to elevate storytelling. Local Network: Established relationships with LA-based freelancers, crew, and production resources. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with union guidelines (IATSE, SAG-AFTRA) is a plus.
Terms Contract Duration: Temporary - 12months* Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Candidates must be based in the Los Angeles area for on-set production needs.
