Executive Protection Specialist**Description -**The Executive Protection Specialist is responsible for physical security, risk identification and mitigation for HP Inc. Reporting to the Director of Executive Protection, the candidate will coordinate executive protection efforts at HP Inc. Headquarters in Palo Alto and within the Bay Area while working closely with site and regional teams for planning and execution. It’s vital to have wide-ranging knowledge on relevant subject matters including residential security, protective intelligence, surveillance technologies, theories, and techniques. A successful candidate must have exceptional written and oral communications skills, take initiative, be a fast learner, and be a highly motivated user of digital tools to accomplish objectives. The Executive Protection Specialist will assist in managing large events, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives.**Responsibilities:**o

Provides close protection of executive members including developing, assessing, and implementing protection strategies and planso

Provides guidance and interpretation about security standards, practices, and programs to support regional and global business and security initiativeso

Assesses security exposures and assists with implementing programs to address them, influencing stakeholders as requiredo

Partakes in continuous Executive Protection trainingo

Maintains liaison with government, industry, and intelligence professionals* Occasionally brief Executives on geopolitical developments, incidents and trends that could affect HP’s business and personnelo

Routinely coordinates with HP Inc. Headquarters site security and Executive Protection Operationso

Responds to security emergencieso

Full-time in office with occasional nights and weekendso

Occasional travel up to 20% in support of key stakeholders**Minimum Qualifications:**o

First-level university degree in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement or a related field of study, or equivalent experienceo

7+ years security experience, including associations in law enforcement, military, intelligence and/or corporate experience. Must include small detail, event security, office security, and residential securityo

Possesses EP training and experience in the following specialties: team member, detail leader, primary and secondary vehicle driver (including armored vehicles), medical (First Aid, CPR, AED), vulnerability assessments, and protective intelligenceo

Eligible to obtain a Federal Air Marshal Service Armed Security Officer (ASO) certificationo

Operational understanding and fluent usage of today’s technology tools across all platforms (PC, tablet, smartphone-smartwatch, radio, satellite, tracking device, etc.)o

Must maintain up-to-date driver’s licenseo

Valid, current passporto

Ability to interact with senior managemento

Be a poised leader and collaborator who gains support from all levels of the organization, including senior executiveso

Excellent follow-up skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task, have leadership presence, strong team-orientation and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and strong analytical skills**Preferred Qualifications:**o

Experience managing security details in domestic and international locations, both low and high risko

Federal Government experience and accreditationso

10+ years of corporate experience and accreditations**Knowledge and Skills:**o

Sound, ethical judgment requiredo

Strong leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and teachingo

Superior ability to use security systems and applicationso

Excellent analytical skills. Ability to identify and mitigate complex security issues.o

Demonstrate ability to perform under pressure in complex situationso

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including presentation, reporting, and consultingo

Thorough knowledge of criminal and civil procedure as it relates to evidence, privacy, interviewing, and intellectual property protectiono

Proven "customer service" and relationship management skillso

Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and implementation.o

Abreast of industry and technology changes to ensure security programs minimize emerging risks. Established range of professional contacts. Familiar with the range of professional security literatureo

Practical knowledge of the current security environment in multiple geographiesOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $200,000 - $250,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
