Job Summary/Description:
The #1 CBS affiliate in Florida's capital city has a rare opening for a primary morning anchor to join the team that leads the best news coverage in the region. The right candidate is a seasoned newsroom leader, an eager coach and mentor, a talented storyteller, and possesses a heart for community service projects.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Anchor morning and midday newscasts
Help develop ideas and concepts for streaming opportunities and digital coverage
Work closely with co-anchors and producers to ensure story selection and quality of broadcast are clean, compelling, and consistent
Demonstrate ability to connect with viewers and the community both on and off the desk
Generate story/segment ideas
Contribute content to digital platforms as assigned
Build local contacts and relationships
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum 3 years anchoring and reporting in a commercial newsroom
Non-linear editing experience
Degree in journalism
A valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurability
